This beautiful desert ironwood box by Heritage Pewter measures 6-inches long, 4-inches wide, and 2.5-inches tall. The Louisiana State University Tigers collegiate emblem is made of pewter. Desert ironwood is an extremely hard, dense wood that grows only in the Sonoran Desert of Mexico. Mature ironwood trees may live to be 1,500 years old. This box is carved from dead ironwood that has baked in the desert sun and been dehydrated by nature at temperatures exceeding 140o for over 100 years. The iron wood box requires only normal dusting and an occasional application of clear polish to renew the luster. This custom-made item may ship directly from the manufacturer, please allow an extra 4-7 business days for production and 3-5 business days transit time.
